Area shelters are seeing a large amount of pets "surrendered" by owners having to choose between providing for families or for their pets. Imagine having to do this yourself.
Donate to help these pets and their owners. The link below is for the Gulf Coast Companion Animal Relief Program to help those affected by the oil spill started by the Louisiana SPCA but there are many more out there. I'll let you know more about these programs as I learn more:
